Miso-Ginger Grilled Prawns with ginger risotto, mushrooms, red peppers, bok-choy, snap peas, and red cabbage at Trillium Cafe in Mendocino
Salad at Trillium Cafe in Mendocino
Our focus in the restaurant is serving amazingly beautiful locally-grown food, with friendly service. Our style is modern California Cuisine, throwing in some Asian and Mediterranean flair, keeping as close to farm-to-table as possible. We use many locally-sourced, organic ingredients as available. We use only grass-fed, high quality, organic meats, and local fish. Our menu is ever-changing, trying to keep all our dishes in tune with our seasons.
We get some of our produce from Nye Ranch and Fortunate Farms, And some we are grow ourselves, as well as our local Farmer’s Markets and as many local organic farms in Sonoma County as we can.
Our restaurant is beautiful and cozy, with a fire place and ocean views, located right in the middle of Mendocino village. When the weather permits, we have our outside deck open, and new garden seating as well, which has ocean views of Big River Bay, and our beautiful culinary flower garden. Trillium Cafe & Inn is close to all the local shopping and Main Street and we are just a short walk to the beach and the Mendocino Headlands State Park.
Point Reyes Blue Cheese Salad: This salad is one of our signature starters. Baby lettuces are tossed with an apple-cider-maple vinaigrette, toasted hazelnuts, dates, crisp pears. The locals and staff never get tired of this combination of flavors, we have tried to take it off the menu, and the staff always complains.
Local Fish: Our local fish entree is ever-changing in order to serve our guests the freshest fish possible that is locally caught.
Our Desserts: We like to have a wide variety of desserts. I have always felt dessert is the finish to the meal and should be something special. We try to accommodate most of the dietary restrictions, being sure to always offer a few gluten free desserts, we also make our own ice creams and sorbets, with local fresh organic fruits and local dairy products.
Flourless Chocolate Torte: This is the yummiest flourless chocolate torte you will ever find. We change it with the fruits available at the time of year. So it could have raspberry truffle ice cream, or Grand Marnier with candied orange peels. This dessert is an amazing way to finish your meal.
Cheese Cake: This desert is a great example of making an amazing dessert, gluten free. The flavors are simple yet so rich and delicate. The cheese cake is usually topped with a seasonal fruit sauce, such as raspberry, huckleberry and in the winter we give it a Kahlua sauce. The crust is made from Almond flour.
